For many Batang ‘90s, Star City wasn’t just an amusement park—it was the ultimate playground where childhood memories were made. Opened in 1991 in Pasay, Star City became one of the most popular entertainment destinations in Metro Manila, offering a mix of thrilling rides, family-friendly attractions, and seasonal events. Unlike other theme parks, Star City was unique for its indoor setup, allowing visitors to enjoy the fun regardless of the weather. Classics like the Star Flyer (the first inverted roller coaster in the country), the Vikings swinging ship, and the nostalgic Snow World—where Filipinos could experience artificial snow—made it a must-visit for families, barkadas, and school field trips. Unfortunately, the park suffered a devastating fire in 2019, forcing it to close for years before finally reopening in 2022, much to the delight of longtime fans.

Adding to the park’s charm was its catchy theme song, “Tara Na, Tara Na!”, performed by Raqi Terra, Maria Morena, and Lyka Barista. This promotional jingle captured the excitement of escaping boredom and diving into the fun-filled world of Star City. With its upbeat melody and playful lyrics, it encouraged people to take a break from their routines and enjoy the simple joys of amusement park rides, laughter, and shared experiences. Whether it was singing along to the jingle on TV commercials or hearing it blast through park speakers while lining up for rides, the song became a nostalgic anthem for those who grew up visiting Star City. Even today, hearing “Sa Star City, Tara naaaah!” instantly brings back memories of carefree weekends, unlimited rides, and that magical feeling of being a kid again.
