CINDERELLA TAGALOG THEME (1999)

In 1999, Cinderella Monogatari aired in the Philippines with a Tagalog theme song performed by Ria Mariva Paz, with lyrics by Raymond Dean Romano. The song, based on the original Japanese track "Ai Plus Ai" by Judy Ongg, conveys deep longing and the dream of finding true love. The lyrics express the protagonist’s desire to finally recognize and name the person who holds her heart, yet for now, he remains a faceless figure in her dreams. This perfectly aligns with Cinderella’s story, where she transitions from a humble servant to discovering her destiny with the prince. The song beautifully captures themes of waiting, hope, and the sweet yearning for true love—emotions that define the magical essence of Cinderella’s tale.

Lyrics:
Ngunit hanggang kailan, hanggang kailan
Ito mananatiling panaginip
Sabik na ko, sabik na ko sa iyong
Yakap at halik.

Kailan, kailan ko malalaman ang itatawag sa
isang mukhang walang pangalan,
sabik na akong ikaw ay makilala ko.

Many Filipino fans, especially those who grew up in the 90s, feel a deep nostalgia for Cinderella Monogatari and its Tagalog theme song. The comments reflect fond memories of watching the show as kids—some before school, during vacations, or even while sick at home. Many recall how it was part of their daily routine alongside other classic morning cartoons. Others still search for the full version of the theme song, reminiscing about its emotional impact and how it made their childhood special. Some even mention their admiration for Prince Lenard and Cinderella’s journey. The longing for the return of such shows highlights how deeply Cinderella Monogatari remains in the hearts of the Batang 90s generation.
