AMA, THE SCHOOL OF TODAY! TVC Lyric | Jolina Magdangal (1998)

The "AMA, THE SCHOOL OF TODAY!" jingle by Jolina Magdangal (1998) became an anthem for AMA Computer College, now AMA University, which was one of the Philippines' pioneering institutions in IT and computer studies during the late 90s. At the time, AMA was a trailblazer, being among the first schools to offer a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) along with various IT-related programs. This catchy jingle highlighted AMA’s commitment to providing high-tech education, with lyrics promoting the school’s programs in Computer Science (ComSci), Computer Engineering (ComEng), Business Administration (BA), and other courses. The jingle also celebrated AMA’s nationwide presence, with campuses in Quezon City, Makati, and international locations like Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, and Los Angeles. The repeated line, “AMA, The School of Today”, reinforced the institution’s reputation as a modern, forward-thinking educational brand.

AMA Computer College was founded in 1980 by Dr. Amable R. Aguiluz IX. Originally established as the AMA Institute of Computer Studies, the school quickly gained recognition for its focus on computer education, making it a leader in the tech field in the Philippines. AMA’s curriculum was designed to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in the rapidly expanding tech industry. The 1998 jingle, with Jolina Magdangal’s catchy and vibrant voice, perfectly encapsulated AMA’s mission to provide high-tech, high-standard education, preparing students for the digital age. As one of the first schools in the country to offer specialized IT programs, AMA played a crucial role in shaping the future of tech education in the Philippines and beyond.
